Krispy Krunchy Chicken (copycat recipe)

Ingredients

  • 8 pieces of chicken (mix of drumsticks, thighs, and wings)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place the buttermilk in another bowl.
  • Dip each piece of chicken in the buttermilk, then dredge in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure to coat the chicken well.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked, turning occasionally.
  • Once done, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack to drain.
  • Serve the crispy fried chicken hot with your favourite sides.
