Ingredients
2cupsBisquick mix
¼cupmilk
½tspdried parsley flakes (optional)
½tspdried thyme (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
4cupschicken or vegetable broth
2cupscooked and shredded chicken (optional for chicken and dumplings)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick mix, milk, dried parsley flakes, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir until a soft dough forms.
In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a simmer over medium heat. If making chicken and dumplings, add the shredded chicken to the pot.
Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the simmering broth. Cover the pot and let the dumplings cook for about 10 minutes or until they are cooked through and fluffy.
Gently stir the dumplings occasionally to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
