Peanut Milk Recipe

Looking for a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional dairy milk? Look no further than peanut milk! This easy-to-follow peanut milk recipe is a great way to add plant-based protein to your diet and enjoy a creamy, nutty beverage. Whether you follow a vegan lifestyle, have a lactose intolerance, or want to explore new culinary flavours, this peanut milk recipe will satisfy your taste buds.

Ingredients

1 cup of raw peanuts

4 cups of water

Optional: sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, or dates

Optional: flavourings like vanilla extract or cocoa powder

Direction

Begin by soaking the raw peanuts in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. This step helps soften the peanuts and makes them easier to blend. Once soaked, drain and rinse the peanuts.

Transfer the soaked peanuts to a blender and add 4 cups of fresh water. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

Next, strain the blended mixture using a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or fine-mesh strainer. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible, leaving behind the solids.

You can sweeten your peanut milk by adding honey, maple syrup, or dates if desired. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste, blending again to incorporate the sweetener.

To enhance the flavour of your peanut milk, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract or a teaspoon of cocoa powder.

Pour the freshly made peanut milk into a clean glass jar or bottle and refrigerate. It can last for up to 4-5 days when stored properly.
