Sugar-Free Ketchup

Ketchup is a beloved condiment that is a staple in many households. However, with the growing concern over sugar intake and its negative effects on health, many people are looking for alternatives to traditional ketchup. This is where sugar-free ketchup comes in. This condiment offers the same great taste and versatility as regular ketchup but without the added sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Liquid stevia or another sugar substitute to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, and water over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, ground mustard, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the ketchup cool for a few minutes.
  5. Taste the ketchup and add liquid stevia or another sugar substitute to achieve your desired level of sweetness.
  6. Transfer the ketchup to a jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for about 1-2 weeks.
