Are you looking for a delicious and easy way to enjoy roasted garlic’s bold and aromatic flavours? Look no further than your air fryer! This kitchen appliance has revolutionized how we cook, and it’s no exception when creating the perfect roasted garlic.
Ingredients:
- Heads of garlic (as many as you like)
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper (optional)
Equipment
- Air fryer
- Aluminium foil
Instructions
- Cut about 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the top of each garlic head to expose the cloves.
- Place each head of garlic on a square of aluminium foil. Drizzle with a teaspoon of olive oil, letting it soak into the exposed cloves. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (if desired). Wrap the garlic tightly in the foil, creating a sealed pouch.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Place the foil-wrapped garlic in the air fryer basket and cook for 25-30 minutes. Larger heads of garlic might take a little longer.
- The garlic is done when the cloves are soft and golden brown. Carefully open a pouch (beware of hot steam!) and gently press a clove to check.
- Let the garlic cool for at least 10 minutes before unwrapping. Squeeze the cloves out of their skins and enjoy!
Tips:
- Don’t skimp on the oil: The olive oil helps the garlic roast evenly and prevents it from drying out.
- Roast more! Roasted garlic stores well, so roast a big batch now to save time later.
- Flavour variations: Experiment with other herbs and spices in addition to salt and pepper.
How to use roasted garlic:
- Spread on toast or crackers
- Add to mashed potatoes
- Stir into pasta sauces, soups, or stews
- Use as a base for dips or spreads
- Blend into hummus
- Eat it straight from the clove!
