This recipe for homemade biscuits is incredibly fast to prepare since there’s no need to incorporate shortening into the flour mixture. Instead, simply combine the sour cream, lightly knead the dough, roll it out, cut it into desired shapes, and bake it. It doesn’t get much easier than that to have a batch of delicious biscuits ready to serve.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons milk
More flour to knead in
Directions
Set oven to 425 degrees F.
In a bowl, put the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sour cream, and milk. Stir lightly until everything is mixed. If you need to, add a little more milk to keep the dry ingredients together.
Dust the breadboard with a little flour and put the dough on it. Dust your hands with flour and gently knead the dough 8–10 times.
Pat out the dough until it is between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter that has been dusted with flour and place on a baking sheet that has not been greased.
About 8 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Move from the pan to a rack for cooling.
